Reiks Viewer, by Reiks Apps. Last updated 15 October 2026.

In short

Reiks Viewer does not collect, store or send personal data. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting of its own.

What stays on your computer

Reiks Viewer writes one file: your options (keys, window colour, language, playback choices, and the printer, paper size and size choice you last printed with). It is kept in %APPDATA%\ReiksViewer\settings.json, or in the app’s own data folder when it was installed from the Microsoft Store. Nothing about the files you open is written: no history, no recent list, no thumbnails.

What goes over the network

The app’s own code has no networking, and its decoders are limited to local files. The “Check for updates” button in the Formats window (F1) opens the download page in your web browser, or the app’s page in the Microsoft Store, and only when you click it.

If you open a file from a network drive or a cloud-synced folder, Windows or your sync program moves that data. Printing goes through Windows’ own print system, which talks to your printer, over your network if it is a network printer.

Installing from the Microsoft Store

When you install Reiks Viewer from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft handles the download, installation and updates under its own privacy statement. Microsoft gives developers aggregated reports, such as how many people installed the app and summaries of crashes that Windows has reported to Microsoft under your Windows diagnostic settings.
